Calling all Culpeper Squirrels

Ok Guys - Here is the plan. Collect all of
round brown things with a hard shell.
Bring them to me and I will put
them in a safe place.
Ok let's go!!

Golden Ears of Corn

Close up of this corn field revealed a golden
treat. Ears of corn ready for harvest.
The sunshine brings out
the contrast of natures
perfection

Culpeper Sports Complex

The soccer fields are among the best in the region.
Most visiting teams from Northern Virginia,
Fredericksburg, and Charlottesville
comment on the quality of the fields
and the mountain views.
A perfect place for
tournaments...

Ears of Corn, Eyes of Glory - The Fall Culpeper Story

The Morning Glories peaked out from the
ears of corn like the eyes of a fictional
field character. The stalks squeaked
together and the crickets chirped
to bring the field alive on the
last day of summer - looking
forward to Fall....

Culpeper Food Closet @ St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

Consider making this a regular stop. As Fall arrives
and Winter approaches, the need increases. If you
are in downtown Culpeper, donating is easy and
convenient. The Food Closet is in the rear of the
Historic St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.

Foreshadowing Fall - Autumn Colors in September

Perfect landing near Culpeper Airport.
A good attempt to use the grass as camo.
Unfortunately the grass is still green in
September.  I love the pattern symmetry
of the wings in contrast with
the random layers of grass
drenched in sunshine.

Hawk Eye Culpeper Virginia

Driving along a roadway in Culpeper Virginia,
I spotted this Hawk watching the cars go by.
I stopped rolled the window down and took
several pics. The eye of the hawk and the detail
of the head feathers remind me of an eagle.

Summer Harvest for Culpeper Monarch

Walking in one of the many open fields
 in Culpeper County. This Monarch
butterfly moved from clover
to clover. She was not
looking for the 4 leaf
 clover. Her summer
harvest
was in full bloom.
I tried to sneak up behind
her to catch a full wing spread.
This was the best that she would
allow. Probably showing her best side :-)

Graffiti House - Brandy Station - Jeb Stuart Signature?

The image is a photo of one of the Civil War Period
signatures found on the wall of the Graffeti House.
There are confirmed signatures from many soldiers with
accompanying stories about them at the house in Culpeper
County Virginia. The card at the bottom shows an authentic
replica of a Jeb Stuart signature. Is the one on the wall from the
General James Ewell Brown "Jeb" Stuart while he was preparing for the
Battle of Brandy Station, the largest calvary battle of the Civil War?
Visit and judge for yourself.

Empire Apples @ Jenkins Orchard Woodville Virginia

How many types of apples are grown at Jenkins Orchard?
The very best way to find out is to begin your search from
Culpeper Virginia and take the hypnotically beautiful drive
along Route 522. As you travel down tree covered two lane roads
in the Fall, the sighs of freedom from busy Northern Virginia
allow your mind to soak in the colors of the mountains. Traveling thru
the charming town of Woodville Virginia and just before Sperryville
Virginia the sign for Jenkins Orchard indicates a left turn.
Three miles to the Orchard will feel like a trip over the river
and thru the woods...
